thanks to everyone for coming and helping out at the big brew this weekend.... in true PF fashion we forget to have our discussion until well after the big brew, but i still think we accomplished a pretty good discussion.
1. Usage of club funds: will pretty much continue the way they have been, if anyone has something they need club funds for email the group and take a vote. club funds are generally used for big brew ingredients and propane, club jockey box and club mash tun, cleaners and sanitizers, club regulator and CO2 tank, and fun club events (food, beer, dinner, etc....)
2. we discussed the idea of discounting membership fees for couples, right now it's $20 per person paid in May (when we first started the club.) From here on out it will be $20 for an individual and $35 for a family/couple paid on the first of the year.
3. it was discussed to move our tasting parties to the spring and fall, we usually limit the winter party to just PF members due to space limitations in peoples houses. If we want to do 2 big tasting parties, having them in spring and fall will help since they could be more outside parties. most members were fine with this, it was determined that the hosts for the tasting parties can ultimately make the decision for the date of there party. i think we'll shoot for april/may and sept/oct, those are usually our dates for big brews but we can adjust as needed for the parties.
4. Jess Pierce is going to spearhead our first pairing dinner, planned for our christmas party in january. this will most likely be a 3 or 4 course meal with each course paired with a beer.
5. Monthly Meeting Selection: is has kind of been left up to tony and i lately and i'd like to get back to the way we first did it with members choosing a month and "hosting" an event. i don't mind finding fun stuff for us to do but i usually only choose things that i know i will be able to attend which limits us. anyways, here's the upcoming months and events. it would be nice to just fill up the calendar now so it doesn't have to be a last minute thing, we can have more than 1 event a month and it can be anything.....
